The Canadian Council for Southeast Asian Studies (CCSEAS) is currently looking for submissions for its 2018 Spring/Summer Issue Newsletter.

The newsletter will be published in June.

Deadline for submissions is April 30th, 2018 (for Spring/Summer).

All submissions for the newsletter or questions should be sent to newsletter@ccseas.ca.

CCSEAS is an association of scholars, students, policymakers and activists with an interest in the academic study of Southeast Asia and its connections to the rest of the world. CCSEAS Newsletters are published twice a year and edited by its graduate student team based in Toronto and Montreal.

We welcome submissions from professors, graduate students and members of civil society alike. Submissions can be in either English or French, and can be articulated along these lines:

– Reports from the field: Notes from graduate students who are currently on the field or have just finished doing fieldwork in Southeast Asia. Submissions can be about research as well as about personal experiences, and should be around 800 words. We also encourage people to send us original photos to accompany their submissions.

– Updates from members: Updates from members can be about various subjects. They can be updates about one member’s own research, for example, or about the situation of Southeast Asian studies in different countries. Submissions should range between 800 and 1500 words.

– Civil society and announcements: Members from civil society are invited to write about their projects or organizations. It is also possible to write about cooperation or possibilities for cooperation between civil society organizations and academics. We also welcome announcements for projects, events or job openings from all horizons as well. Submissions should be around 800 words and include contact information if necessary.

*** Please kindly circulate the present call for submissions to your networks. ***
