They can be found at taxi stands in most busy city areas or hailed on the streets. Of course, Uber taxi is also available. Standard taxis are generally silver, white, or orange, but taxis have a variety of colors. Except for the black taxi, all ask for the same basic fare (the taxi fare is calculated by distance and time), which is not high compared to the US or Europe. Travelling to the city center (City Hall) will be about $25, despite its considerable distance from Hoam Faculty House. While all taxis operating in the Seoul area accept credit cards or transportation cards, it is possible that some taxis in the outlying or isolated regions may request cash only. (Korea offers special international taxis, which are driven by taxi drivers who can speak one or more foreign languages: English, Japanese or Chinese.
